It is with great sadness and disappointment that we are unable to open our gardens in May and June this year for charity because of the corona virus. We cannot see a complete lifting of the ‘lockdown’ before the end of June. If there is an opportunity later in the year and full restrictions are lifted, we might consider  opening in some form but even that is unlikely. The only consolation is that we can take the opportunity to improve the garden and yard over the next few months and have a really good display next year. Hopefully we will be back to normal then.

In the meantime , please keep safe and sane  !

**We've been advised by the ECB and Lincolnshire Cricket that due to the on-going pandemic the start date for junior cricket is highly likely to be delayed but they remain hopeful that sessions will run later in the year**

**Meeting on the 23rd April cancelled**

Many thanks,

Watch out for scam messages:

Since February 2020, the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) has identified 21 reports of fraud where Coronavirus was mentioned, with victim losses totalling over £800k. Ten of these reports were made by victims that attempted to purchase protective face masks from fraudulent sellers. One victim reported losing over £15k when they purchased face masks that were never delivered, Reporting numbers are expected to rise as the virus continues to spread across the world. We have also received multiple reports about cororavirus-themed phishing emails attempting to trick people Into opening malicious attachments or revealing sensitive personal and financial information,

Don't click on the links or attachments in suspicious emails, and never respond to unsolicited messages and calls that ask for your personal or financial details

Shopping online: If you're making a purchase from a company or person you don't know and trust, carry out some research first, and ask t friend or family member for advice before completing tile purchase. The Dunholme News

Until further  notice there will be no printed or distributed Dunholme News.  However to try to get important information to the community a shortened version will be produced and placed on the Internet as a pdf that can be downloaded.

Unfortunately  I am unable to access the dunholme.org.uk web site for editing  and can find no fix due to lack of on-line technical support so I have transferred all information to the Dunholme Old School website. So please go to www.dosc.org.uk and select the Dunholme Village News page for all the information.

Please keep sending in your articles but should be limited to  help and social care information  relating to the problems that may be encountered during this pandemic

We will try to inform you when things are likely to be back to normal.

John Ritchie Editor

Do you need support?

We are writing to you to let you know how West Lindsey District Council, alongside its partners, could help you in these unprecedented times.

National Response - The NHS has written to around 1.5 million people identified as being at highest clinical risk of COVID-19 due to pre-existing health conditions. If you are part of this group, you should have recently received a telephone call to assess your needs and where required, deliveries of food parcels and medication should now be in place. If you have not been contacted by the NHS and are concerned that you might be clinically vulnerable, please contact your GRRractice, either by email, using the online consultation tool {AskMyGP or eConsult) or telephone to discuss whether you fall into the clinically vulnerable category. Lincolnshire County Council has set up a dedicated hotline for those who have concerns or need advice.

Local Response - In addition to those people with clinical needs, there will also be many who have new needs, unrelated to existing health conditions. For example, you may need some shopping fetching, the dog walking, or just need someone to talk to. If you are in need of support, but have no members of your household who can help or if you are unable to access support through other means, including friends and family, the helpline for vulnerable people in self-isolation due to Coronavirus can help. Its open 7 days a week, 9am-5pm on 01522 782 189. Via a Community Hub, the District Council are providing the vital link between community groups and residents who need help. These local groups want to help, so you are not alone. Let us know what you need and we will match you with a local support group.

We know that being alone at this time can be difficult. The NHS have set up a local Mental Health Helpline on 0800 001 4331. If you need help, support or just another person to talk to this helpline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can support with feelings of low mood, anxiety and stress.

Finally, I would like to reassure you that the Council will do everything it can to support our communities during this crisis and will continue to do so once we get into the recovery phase. Thank you for your support.

Best Wishes

lanKnowles Chief Executive

Giles McNeill Leader of the Council

We are sorry about this but I am sure you will understand that this is part of the Social Distancing Advice given out to help prevent the spread of the virus.  Obviously none of us know when this will settle down but rest assured we will resume the sessions as soon as it is safe to do so.
